In class today, we were given a new equation that was ±Af[C(x±D)]±B. Each group was given a colored sheet of paper that was considered "part" of the equation and had to write down what it meant. Part of what we learned was about horizontal transformations. Pictures to come soon, but for the part [C(x was the id o<c<1, the parent function would be stretched horizontally, if c>1, than the parent function is compressed horizontally. However, in most cases except for trig functions, the C value can be used as an A value. The ±D)] part is when it is being added, the graph translates to the left. If it's being subtracted, the graph shifts right.
For homework we were given a pink packet with graphs of certain function families and transformations to fill out. Pages 4-9 are due tomorrow.
