In Class: Today we took our quick quiz at the beginning of the class. Then, we all received an equation and had to find our partner. Once we had partners, we looked at all the equations and grouped them by their similarities. When the bell rang, we were solving our given equation.
Homework: Work on the writing assignment due on FRIDAY!

Essential Question: How do we graph the inverse trig. functions?
In Class: Today we went over how to graph the inverse of sine, cosine, and tangent. One method that we focused on was making a table using the coordinate points on the parent function and switching the values to find the inverse. We also talked about the importance of concavity. At the end of class, we were asked to solve the problem: 2 cos(x) -1=0. Mrs. Prior left us to think about how many solutions that equation would have.
Homework: page 288 #1-14 and #29-40. Tomorrow we have a quick quiz on graphing trig. functions!

Today in class 2/12 we had a sub so we were assigned to do Investigation 1 #1-4 which started on page 459. The homework was to complete these problems if you didn't do so in class.

Tuesday, 2/5/13

In Class: Today in class we went over last nights homework, went over some essential questions and what will be on the big quiz. We went over more problems with logs and natural logs. We also took a mad minute.

Homework: Page 450, Numbers 6 and 7, page 452 number 5 and page 453 number 4! Study for quiz on Thursday!

Monday (02/04/13)

In-Class: Today, we worked on our partner worksheets, finalized our answers, and handed in the worksheet to be graded. After, we took notes on how to draw graphs involving the special number "e" (exponential and logarithmic). These graphs also included multiple transformations.
HW: Blue Book (4B), Pages 452-3: #1 and #2. Also, we have a test on Thursday on inverses and logarithms!

Friday, February 1, 2013

In class: Today we reviewed Wednesday's homework, learning that e is a concept and not a number, which explains the structure of the formula for compounding continuously. We also began a partner worksheet that will be collected Monday.
HW: Finish the partner worksheet.
